The Florida Panthers have made one of the biggest deadline day deals by re-signing captain Olli Jokinen to a $21-million US, four-year contract.
Jokinen would have become a free agent at season's end and was linked to several trades in recent weeks. The 27-year-old has 29 goals and 37 assists in 62 games this season.
In 539 NHL games with Florida and Los Angeles, he has 126 goals and 150 assists.
